So the story started when i created NerdsFuel , I bought domain for it and connected domain with blogger. Even though i had been using blogger for more than 4 years now. But i never bought custom domain so when NerdsFuel is launched i shared it's link to many other bloggers and almost all of these suggested me to move my blog to Wordpress if i wanted to be successful. So after so much suggestions i moved to Wordpress so now lets start Why I Switched Back To Blogger From Wordpress .
Hosting:-
It is very often that we think about how our blogger blogs are being hosted in blogger. Hosting is free on blogger and guess what our blogs are being hosted by Google so the blogger user have Solid unlimited hosting for free. But what about WordPress, In WordPress we have to find host by our self and good hosting is only paid hosting and it's average price is around 5$ a month.So if you are new and your blog is not generating much then you have to pay from your pocket.
Domain:-
So after you had hosting service now you need a domain for your Wordpress blog. And .com/net etc domains starts from around 10$ a year i choose namecheap for Nerdsfuel which costs me 10.99$. But what about blogger user blogger user gets a free domain name with .blogspot extension and you also have option to connect custom domain with blogger with out any additional charges.
Themes/Template:-
Yes it is true that free Wordpress themes are the worst and the most boring themes.And premium themes are the most expensive they start from 10$ to thousands of dollar. I choose theme which costs me 35$. while in blogger you get a Template editor in which you can edit your template and you can change it according to your taste and there are thousands of free premium quality themes for blogger to choose from and the paid themes are not that much expensive as compared to WordPress themes.
Plugins:-
Yes it is true that WordPress has thousands of useful Plugins.But most of them are paid and very complicated. Every plugin that i liked was paid one :(.
Seo:-
Yes it is true that Wordpress has edge over blogger in SEO but blogger is not that bad in SEO also i had blogs which are getting thousands of hits every day from Google. In Wordpress you have many plugins that can help in SEO but most of the good ones are paid and are very complicated my agenda is that if you write a good content people will come to read.
Conclusion:- So the conclusion of my story is that blogger is not that bad it has every thing that a blogger might need. Wordpress is better but you have to pay for every thing while blogger is cheap. Blogger is simple and straight forward any one can use it while WordPress is only for experts and is very complicated. And the last thing about SEO my agenda is that if you have good content readers will ether you are on WordPress or blogger.
